I really should have listened to the posts I have read about Pro 8mm. I ordered a Beaulieu eye cup from them thinking it was probably something new that they manufactured because of their overpriced Classic camera. WRONG! What I recieved for an undisclosed amount of credit was a dried out, cracking rubber eyecup from the 60's.
Pure BS is what they gave me so I emailed them demanding a refund. Very Unlikley I am guessing. I will keep you posted on their quality of CUSTOMER SERVICE?
Should have listened to Matt P.

Par for the course. Do they treat their big Hollywood clients like this? We're all paying the same aren't we? Do they charge independents and amateurs the same as Oliver Stone? I doubt he would get sent a rotting piece of rubber. if I ever buy anything from them I might just pose as a big wig's assistant & see what happens.

Hey all,
Just my two cents here...but...I've not had a problem with them so far. They've all been extremely polite and helpfull. Why don't you contact Phil Vigeant, the owner and ceo of Pro 8mm. I've spoken with him several times on the phone and is a helluva nice guy. Maybe you can get it worked out!

(Matt Pacini responds):
Yeah, Phil IS a nice guy. I spoke with him once at the Showbiz Expo.
Unfortunately though, I've never been able to get through their "gatekeeper" form of customer service, where absolutely everyone is always too busy to talk to you for any reason, ever!
As I've said on this board before, I tried literally for months to get someone there to answer telecine questions, and it was always "they're way too busy, I'll take your number, but I don't know when they're going to be able to get to you. You should just book your time and come in."
As if I had already made up my mind to use them.
Of course, nobody ever called me, so I went elsewhere, and I've never regretted it.
Besides, I have no idea why anyone still uses them, since everything they sell can be had elsewhere for a fraction of the price (products and services), and Pro8mm film from them costs MORE than 16mm, so why bother?
If you want to shoot neg Super8 get it from Kodak.
Better, cheaper, faster.

Right now we're still only making new eyecups for the Bolex cameras but, we plan on extending to Beaulieu R16 and then the x008 series of Beaulieu.
For those of you with the x008 cameras, save those little screw in flanges that the old one was glued onto. We have no source for new ones. http://members.fortunecity.com/sazeech
